24th Nontron knife festival

For the fourth consecutive time, we participated in the 24th edition of the Nontron Knife Festival, from July 31 to August 4.

The first three days were devoted to animations and demonstrations. We welcomed the leisure centre and vacationers to City Hall, in the company of the blacksmith trainees on the square.

During the first session, participants followed in the footsteps of the first Stone Age knives. Each one hammered his plate to shape it and then polished it.

The second day was focused on the ornament.

During the last session, Yannick presented fire obtaining techniques, then, equipped with their necessary equipment, each group unleashed themselves by trying to produce a friction ember.

On Saturday and Sunday, on the cutlery plateau, Yannick presented the flintknapping to visitors, while the rest of the tribe held the Atelier Paleo stand.

As in previous years, the days were very sunny and the temperature rather pleasant.
