Ötzi style flint blade knife
Ref. C1602

Cette pièce est vendue.

Ötzi style knife, the iceman (- 5000 years old) discovered in the Alps in "1991". The blade is in flint, the handle in yew, the ligature in deer tendon and the link at the end of the handle in limewood.

I chose yew (Ötzi used Ash) for the handle. I love this wood essence! It is a much more beautiful wood, pleasant to the touch and which is more archeo-compatible. On this piece I kept a light wood sapwood side and a dark wood heartwood side. The handle after manufacture was patinated to give it an aspect of already lived, used by a common ancestor. The case, made by Anita Kepinski is made of tanned deer hide. She decorated it with some bone beads. A leather strap allows the whole set to be worn on the belt.. It was then patinated to give it the appearance of a case that had been worn by its owner for many years.
As an option, a skin strap can be added to wear around the neck or as a shoulder strap.
